Barbara Finlayson-Pitts on NPR

AirUCI Director Barbara Finlayson-Pitts was interviewed by National Public Radio on the topic of weather and air pollution, and parts of her comments aired over the weekend of January 25-26, 2014. While air pollution overall has decreased by at least 20% over the last decade according to the California Air Resources Board, weather conditions — especially drought conditions — have added more dust particulates into the air while higher temperatures speed up chemical reactions in the atmosphere .  Listen
