Teacher Resources

From time to time we encounter some terrific items that are appropriate to science classes in schools.  We share these with anyone interested in promoting science in the classroom and among the general population.

Videos we like:
Naturally Obsessed:   (2009) an excellent video, particularly for 11th - 12th graders, that shows the training of scientists and the process of discovery with a focus on the human side of doing science. Following the emotional ups and downs of three graduate students who are guided by their professor and laboratory head along the challenging and uncertain journey to the PhD degree, it highlights the qualities that contribute to the making of a scientist, such as persistence, skill in asking the right questions, mastering the needed technology, mentoring and being mentored, collaborating, and facing competition.
