AirUCI team members honored at Lee Dinner

AirUCI research team members received several awards at the annual E.K.C. Lee awards dinner on Thursday evening, May 26, 2011.  Matt Dawson received the Graduate Student Award for exceptional contributions to the Chemistry department and, along with Gregory Hartt, received the Michael E. Gebel Award.  At the dinner it was announced that AirUCI's Katelyn Updyke had received an American Institute of Chemists Foundation Award for 2011 and that she and our Carol Tsai were recognized by Phi Lambda Upsilon for excellent grades.  Carol also graduates Cum Laude and with Honors in Chemistry.  AirUCI administrative assistant Jennifer Collopy received the Chemistry Staff Award, and it was announced that PI Benny Gerber has been elected Distinguished Professor of the Finnish Academy of Sciences and the University of Helsinki.  Our Adam Bateman received the Michael Zach Award for most promising future faculty member.  And Emily Bruns received the Edward K.C. Lee Award for outstanding graduate student.  All in all, AirUCI was well represented at the Lee Awards Banquet, and we're very proud of you all!
