Beginning May 11th, AirUCI will host a visit by Christian George, Director of Research at the IRCELYON Institute in Lyon, France. He will be giving a presentation on Wednesday, May 12th in Rowland Hall room 390 at 2:00 pm. His talk is entitled "Emerging sources of tropospheric multiphase oxidants.".

AirUCI's AAAR student chapter will be hosting a game-centered discussion on the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report on climate change on Wednesday, April 27th from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM in Rowland Hall Room 390. The discussion is meant to be a fun way to engage with the material within this report. Students, postdocs, scientists, and faculty are all invited! On April 13, 2022, AirUCI will host a group of students from Pepperdine University attending the classes of our collaborator, Prof. Jane Ganske. She is bringing her students to tour three or four of the AirUCI labs and hear presentations on our research projects.
AirUCI faculty Andrea De Vizcaya-Ruiz will present a virtual seminar on April 5th entitled "Every breath we take — is the next generation's health at risk?" Andrea will describe how exposure to ambient air pollution, predominantly airborne particulate matter (PM), has been linked with diseases of the lung, heart, and more. Populations in urban centers with elevated emissions are at greater health risk, as they are subjected to continuous and long-term exposure. Details and RSVP
AirUCI's AAAR student chapter will host the second of a two-part science communication workshop with Professor Pat Ayotte, our current AirUCI Fulbright Fellow. This is part two of the workshop to be held in Rowland Hall room 390 from 10:30 - noon on March 25th.
On March 17th, UCI's Solutions That Scale will host a presentation to discuss the Angeles Link proposal to be developed by Southern California Gas Company, an initiative that would develop the nation's largest green hydrogen energy infrastructure system. On March 16th AirUCI will host a seminar presented by Dr. Paulus Bauer, who recently joined us as a postdoctoral researcher in the Smith group. His talk is entitled "Physical characterization of number, size and shape of aerosol nanoparticles: from Condensation Particle Counters (CPCs) to Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS)" and will be held from noon to 1 pm in Rowland Hall room 390.
