AirUCI's AAAR chapter is announcing a series of upcoming seminars from early career faculty members at research universities.  Each speaker will give a research seminar, after which there will be about 20-30 minutes for a discussion about how they managed their career paths.  These events are great opportunities for graduate students and other researchers to learn how to pursue a faculty position at a research university.

AirUCI's AAAR group will be presenting their next remote Journal Club meeting on Thursday, June 1th at 3pm.  Professor Alex Guenther will host and they will send out a link to the discussion paper with the Zoom meeting invitation. For details, contact aaarsc@uci.edu.

The AirUCI Internal Symposium will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 11th in Rowland Hall room 390 from 12:30 - 1:30 for grad students, postdocs, and project scientists.  These meetings are an excellent opportunity to learn about AirUCI-related research and to form collaborations among the AirUCI labs.  Light lunch is provided.  Speaker and topic TBD.

AirUCI starred in the second installment of Compelling Conversations, a virtual lecture series presented by UCI's School of Physical Sciences.  The Zoom event, entitled "Air Quality, Climate Change and COVID-19," took place on Friday, May 15th from 12-1pm and was hosted by PS Dean James Bullock.

AirUCI's AAAR group will be presenting their second remote Journal Club meeting on Friday May 15th at 3pm.  Professor Celia Faiola will host and they will send out a link to the discussion paper with the Zoom meeting invitation: Their first virtual Journal Club meeting on April 24th was a big success, and they will be scheduling future meetings as well.

AirUCI's AAAR group recently sent out a survey to their members in order to gauge interest in continuing their meetings online while the campus is closed due to the COVID-19 virus.  They received much positive feedback and are in the process of planning remote internal seminars. To start, Journal Club is returning next Friday, April 24th at 3:00pm. Sergey Nizkorodov will be hosting and they will send out the discussion paper next week with the Zoom meeting invitation. 
 
Many also expressed an interest in a Zoom happy hour. They will hold their first one...
