AirUCI will host a visit from Dr. Robert Seidel of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin from August 15 - 16, 2022 when he will be meeting with our faculty and discussing collaborative endeavors. At 2 pm on August 16th, Dr. Seidel will give a presentation in Rowland Hall room 390. His talk is entitled "Interfacial Photoelectron- and Absorption Spectroscopy Studies of Earth-Abundant Catalyst Materials for the Oxygen Evolution Reaction".

On July 12th, AirUCI will host a seminar by Prof. Alexis Lau of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The talk is entitled, "Personalized air exposure management for health protection and energy saving in dense urban environment" and will be held at 2:00 pm in Rowland Hall room 390.
The Beyond the Tailpipe group within AirUCI will host a group of Santa Ana students in a tour of our labs. Our non-profit partner, the Madison Park Neighborhood Association, sponsors the ALMA Science Academy for young students who are interested in STEM topics. AirUCI will give a tour of our labs and presentation of our research on Wednesday, June 22nd for a group of about 45 4th - 6th graders and their teachers.
AirUCI faculty Jun Wu, Mike Kleinman, and Ulrike Luderer are on the planning committee for the COEH symposium on occupational and environmental health threats to be held June 16-17, 2022 at UCI Research Park. Various pollution/health presentations will cover such topics as the history of transportation in terms of emissions and environmental impacts, occupational health of different transportation sectors, disaster management of fuel related incidents, fuel cell research, and air pollution from non-tail pipe emissions.

Save the date! AirUCI will host the 38th Informal Gathering on Atmospheric Science and Photochemistry (IGASP), formerly known as Informal Symposium on Kinetics and Photochemical Processes in the Atmosphere (ISKPPA) at the Beckman Center on campus June 15, 2022. Invitations and notifications were sent out this spring. Registration is required and the Beckman Center strictly enforces Covid protocols. Parking and meals are provided and registration closes May 31, 2022.

Beginning May 11th, AirUCI will host a visit by Christian George, Director of Research at the IRCELYON Institute in Lyon, France. He will be giving a presentation on Wednesday, May 12th in Rowland Hall room 390 at 2:00 pm. His talk is entitled "Emerging sources of tropospheric multiphase oxidants.".
AirUCI's Internal Symposium will meet on Thursday, May 5th at 1:30. The meetings will be held in a hybrid format this quarter, via Zoom and in Rowland Hall 390. AirUCI's AAAR student chapter will be hosting a game-centered discussion on the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report on climate change on Wednesday, April 27th from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM in Rowland Hall Room 390. The discussion is meant to be a fun way to engage with the material within this report. Students, postdocs, scientists, and faculty are all invited! On April 13, 2022, AirUCI will host a group of students from Pepperdine University attending the classes of our collaborator, Prof. Jane Ganske. She is bringing her students to tour three or four of the AirUCI labs and hear presentations on our research projects.
