Dr. Hans-Joachim Freund of the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society will present a lecture sponsored by AirUCI entitled “Thin Oxide Films and the ´Physics´ of Catalysis: The expected and the Unexpected” in Rowland Hall 390 on March 22, 2012 at 4 pm.
Dr. Joachim Sauer of Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin will present a lecture entitled "Storage and Catalytic Conversion of Hydrocarbon Molecules by Metal Oxides – Quantum Chemistry in Concert with Experiment" in Rowland Hall 390 on March 21, 2012 at 4 pm.
On March 20, 2012, Dr. Ivan Gladich of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic will present a talk in Rowland Hall 390 at noon. The talk is entitled: "Impact of the Ice Quasi-Liquid Layer on Relevant Atmospheric Chemical Processes: Adsorption, Interaction, and Photochemistry of PAHs at the Air-Ice Interfaces".
Dr. Tara Kahan of the University of Colorado will present a talk hosted by AirUCI entitled, "Spectroscopic Investigations of Atmospheric Reactions in Air and on Ice." The lecture will be held at noon on Monday, January 30th in Natural Sciences 2 room 2201.
AirUCI's 8th annual international science workshop will be held at the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach, California on January 26-27, 2012. Dr. Sasho Gligorovski of the Universite de Provence in France will present a lecture entitled "Indoor HONO Sinks and Sources: Direct Measurements of OH Radicals Indoors" at 11 am on December 12, 2011 in Rowland Hall 390.
On Monday, December 12, 2011, Dr. Theo Brauers of Juelich, Germany will present a talk entitled "Development and Application of a Mobile LOPAP Instrument for HONO Detection" in Rowland Hall 390 at 12:15 pm.
On Monday October 31st Dr. Tad Kleindienst, Research Scientist at the EPA, will be visiting AirUCI and giving a seminar on secondary organic aerosol at noon in RH 390. The title of his lecture is “Sources of Secondary Organic Aerosol Across the United States, or How Chem 131 Can Prepare You to Study Real-World Aerosols”.
