AirUCI is sponsoring a lecture presented by Professor Gil Nathanson of the University of Wisconsin, Madison entitled, “How Does HCl Dissolve? A Molecular Beam Journey into Salty Glycerol and Water.”
This talk will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:00 PM in Rowland Hall, Room 390 and is hosted by Vice Chancellor of Research, John Hemminger (AirUCI co-Director).
Prof. Barbara Finlayson-Pitts and Prof. Benny Gerber of AirUCI are hosting a lecture by Prof. John Simons, F.R.S of the Department of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, Oxford University. This event will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 4:00 PM.
The title of the talk is "Sweetness and Light: Carbohydrate Shapes and Interactions in the Gas Phase".
Dr. Tracy Caldwell Dyson, a former UCI postdoctoral scholar in chemistry (under AirUCI co-directors Barbara Finlayson-Pitts and John Hemminger), recently completed six months on the International Space Station. We're excited that she has agreed to return to UCI to give another public lecture in the Beckman Auditorium to share her experiences!

AirUCI PIs Sergey Nizkorodov and Eric Saltzman are organizing this conference in conjunction with the California Air Resources Board. The main goal of the event is to share scientific knowledge and foster collaborations between research communities and air pollution management agencies in Southern California.

AirUCI's 7th annual science workshop will be held at the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach, California on January 19-20, 2010. Invited speakers and AirUCI researchers will give presentations on the latest findings in chemistry in the atmosphere and at interfaces.

AirUCI hosted a talk by Dr. Tadeusz E. Kleindienst, research scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, on June 3, 2010 entitled "Use of Molecular Tracers for Estimating Secondary Organic Aerosol Concentrations in Sub-Micron Particulate Matter".
This event allowed ORU team members to review the research being conducted by the diverse groups and develop additional collaborative projects.
