AirUCI PI Craig Murray is organizing the annual Informal Symposium on Kinetics and Photochemical Processes in the Atmosphere conference to be held at UCI on March 24, 2016 at the UCI Student Center. Invited guests will speak, and talks and posters from our group will be presented by researchers of all levels — from graduate students to faculty. On Tuesday, March 22nd at 3.30 pm, Prof. Jesse Kroll of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will give a talk, entitled "Oxidative aging of organic aerosol: kinetics, mechanism, and impacts". The lecture will be held in Rowland Hall room 390.

AirUCI has initiated a career seminar series called EACCO (Exposure to Advanced Chemistry Career Opportunities) in which past graduate students and post-doctoral researchers are returning to UCI (in person or via Skype) to share their career experiences and opportunities to benefit current graduate students and post-docs. AirUCI PI Doug Tobias will give a presentation at the University Club on Wednesday, February 17 at 4:00 pm, to be followed by a reception. The title of his lecture is, "Make Believe Molecules in Motion".
Prof. Allan Bertram of the University of British Columbia will give a talk on Tuesday, Februay 2nd in Rowland Hall room 104, hosted by UCI's Department of Chemistry. His talk is entitled, “Phase Transitions and Viscosities in Atmospheric Particles”.
Dr. Armin Hansel of the University of Innsbruck and Ionicon will present a talk on January 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Croul Hall main seminar room, sponsored jointly by UCI's Chemistry and Earth System Sciences departments. There are two talk titles:
Title 1: “Plant surface reactions: an ozone defense mechanism impacting atmospheric chemistry”
Title 2: “The PTR3-TOF: an ultra-sensitive instrument reaching sub ppq levels"
Dr. Jennie Thomas of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France will present a lecture sponsored by AirUCI entitled, “Arctic Tropospheric Chemistry in a Changing Environment”. The talk will be held at 11 am in Rowland Hall room 390. Jennie is returning to AirUCI as she completed her graduate studies with us.
